Where dreams come true!

Overview
This compact village in northern Lapland sits inside the Urho Kekkonen national park. The scenery around here is unlike any other – a true wilderness, home to fells and a lake district. It’s some 250 kilometres above the Arctic Circle – you can’t get much further north than that. But, though it’s remote, you’ve still got restaurants, bars and an indoor pool complex.

Itinerary

Arrive in Saarielka
Once you’ve landed at Ivalo airport, you’ll be given your thermal clothing and an information pack containing all the info you’ll need for your trip. Then it’s off to Saariselka to settle in to your hotel. There’s free time for the rest of the day so you’ll have plenty of time for exploring, or you can book a Northern Lights search – just make sure you book in any of your extra TUI experiences before you go so you don’t risk missing out.

Taster Time
It’s time for your short taster sessions today, as you’ll get a feel for snowmobiling and husky or reindeer-sleigh rides through the snow. There’s plenty of free time in the afternoon, so you’ve got room to fit in any other trips you’d like to do. Or, you can get cosy in a café where little ones can pen their letters to Santa.

Free Time/Santa's Creek
If you’re on a four-night trip, the day’s yours to explore, or fill your time with snowmobile cruises through the countryside, or reindeer-driven sleigh rides through the snow – just make sure you book any extra trips before you travel as places tend to fill up fast. Meanwhile, for those on a three-night trip, it’s time to meet Santa. You’ll head to a secluded spot in the woods and make your way to Santa’s creek. As you go, you’ll bump into reindeers, elves and a Lappish shaman before sitting down with Father Christmas himself. After, it’s time to hand your thermal clothing back in before you head to your gala buffet meal – once you’ve tucked into your meal you can head outside to watch the festi...

Fly Home/Santa's Creek
If you’re staying on a three-night trip, it’s time to head back to the airport ready for your flight back home. For those on a four-night trip it’s off to Santa’s Creek to meet the big man in red – just make sure your camera’s fully charged, as it’s often described as one of the most beautiful places in Lapland. Once you’ve said goodbye to Santa, you’ll hand your thermal clothing back in and top your trip off with a gala buffet meal and festive-themed fireworks.

Fly Home
For those staying on a four-night trip it’s time to head back to the airport today, ready for your flight home.

Resort

Saariselka
Located in the wild mystical north of Lapland, close to Russia and just a few hours from the Arctic Ocean, Saariselkä is an exceptionally friendly uncommercialised resort with a unique frontier atmosphere. With magnificent Arctic wilderness scenery just on the doorstep, it makes an ideal resort for an all-round winter wonderland adventure. The skies are often a deep hue of pink and purple, the pine trees heavily laden with snow, and being so far north there is a good possibility of seeing the Northern Lights too.
