Based at the foot of the snow-capped Lyngen Alps, and perched on the edge of Lake Kilpis, Kilpisjarvi is the perfect base from which to explore the most northern parts of True Lapland � a very special place indeed, where unspoiled nature and fresh adventure await.
An undoubted highlight of this tour is venturing out on snowmobile to the �three borders� point, where Norway, Finland and Sweden meet � circle around all three countries in less than 30 seconds! And there�s more � this holiday also includes a Northern Lights snowmobile tour, where you may be dazzled by the dancing Aurora, and a reindeer camp excursion where you�ll be introduced to the local Sami and their way of life.

Itinerary
Your Snowmobile Voyager holiday begins with a morning flight to Enontekio Airport on a direct charter flight. Enontekio is a very small airport and yours is likely to be the only flight that day. From there, you make the two-hour transfer to Kilpisjarvi, with a stop enroute to collect your thermal suits and snow boots, which you keep for the duration of your stay in Lapland.
Upon arrival in Kilpisjavi, you�ll be shown to your chosen hotel or cabin, where your stay will be on a full-board basis, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Your Transun rep will give a welcome presentation and highlight some of the features of the area � Kilpis is steeped in myths and legends, and the spectacular surrounding scenery provides the perfect backdrop to these fascinating stories.

The Three Borders Snowmobile Safari
Duration: Half Day
The highpoint of this holiday is the snowmobile tour to the Three Borders point, where Finland, Sweden and Norway meet � supposedly the most peaceful such border in the world. Cross all three countries in a matter of seconds! Two adults share a snowmobile.*
Northern Lights Snowmobile Safari
Duration: 2 Hours
Kilpisjarvi is on the official Northern Lights Route, so hop on your snowmobile and venture out to an ideal remote location in the hope of catching the swaying Aurora overhead. Two adults share a snowmobile.*
Sami Reindeer Experience
Duration: 2.5 Hours
A fascinating introduction to a reindeer farm given by a Sami family who have been herding in the area for hundreds of years; this tour includes an 800m sleigh ride and the opportunity to feed the reindeer.
Arctic Ice Fishing by Snowmobile
Duration: 1.5 Hours
Travelling by snowmobile, you arrive at a frozen lake where you can try your hand at traditional ice fishing - you just drill a hole in the ice and lower your baited hook into the icy waters below. (Available on 4 nights only).

Newly built in 2021, and offering the highest standard of accommodation in the area, the Wau House at Tundrea is a pinnacle of design and luxuryin Finnish Lapland.

Based on two floors, the upper floor contains a double bedroom with glass roof, from which you may see the unfurling Northern Lights or the glistening stars. The downstairs area has a seating area with views overlooking the iconic Saana Fell and space to sleep a further two people.
Meals are served in Tundrea's restaurant, a short walk away. and this accommodation may therefore not be suitable for those with mobility issues.




Malla Cabins
The Tundrea cabins and apartments offer a choice of timber-built accommodation which is quintessentially Lapland. Tundrea is tucked away at the foot of the Saana Fell – arguably the most iconic fell mountain in Lapland – and sits at the banks of Lake Kilpisjarvi, offering sweeping panoramic views of the Arctic tundra.

Sleeps 4-6
The Malla cabins (named after the legendary local giant Malla) comprise of two twin rooms and a spacious mezzanine level with two further beds, ideal for parties up to six people. A stone fire place at the heart of the cabin’s living area creates the perfect space to unwind after an adventure-filled day in the snow, and for adults to relax in after the little ones have gone to bed! Meals are served in Tundrea's restaurant, a short walk away.
Malla Premium Cabins
Sleeps 4-6
The Malla Premium cabins are perfect for families looking for a more luxurious getaway. Though the floorplan of the Malla Premium and Standard cabin options are the same, the interiors differ, with the Premium cabins being furnished in a contemporary Scandinavian style with traditional carvings and Aurora skyscapes adorning the walls. Meals are served in Tundrea's restaurant, a short walk away.

The Tundrea penthouse offers fantastic views overlooking Lake Kilpisjarvi with the Saana fell to the east. The penthouse offers a simple layout and has everything you need for a cosy stay in Lapland. This accommodation is not suitable for anybody with mobility issues due to the number of steps to the room.

Hotel Rakka
Newly opened in March 2023, Kilpisjarvi’s newest accommodation offering is a sumptuous retreat set in the very Arctic wilderness which True Lapland is known for.* Tundrea also features a lakeside hot tub, for which reservations and payment can be made locally.
